Going forward, I really don't want a job, unless it's doing something I enjoy. Older now, and tired of going to a job with no future, where you work all year and your checking account still doesn't grow, yet you're suppose to be loyal to company.
At least in the blue-collar work world, you're simply 'meat', disposable meat, and when you spoil, get sick, injured, ect, they toss you aside...so don't feel guilty about leaving any job you're sick of and that you're not fiscally or emotionally prospering from.

The hustle and bustle of truck driving, is one you really have to love, to be all into it, cause it requires a lot from you, will drain you, ruin you, destroy you, if not careful. I've given a lot of my adult life to trucking over the decades, and for what? In the end, still living check to check, regardless of all the promises. Sure though, some of it my fault for not being more careful with my future, or for not investing properly, for not educating myself better, for not taking my future more seriously.
But trucking always promises the big pay checks, so you just figure you'll save money regardless, but not the case. Unless you set aside money specifically for investments or savings, you will spend it, or someone else will.
