My attention has really been split lately between my 'day job', and then doing what I actually love to do, which is broadcast and create stuff, or what I call 'audio theater', that's what I enjoy. My day job is just a nessisary evil, for now.
But earning passive income isn't easy, even writing and then trying to sell a book is no garuntee of a pay off. I mean seems every day on the radio, talk radio, every ex politician, ex soldier, ex general has a book to sell, and they've been rich all their lives, and still selling books, and their books would bomb if they didn't have Mark Levin's or Hannities shows to go on and pitch them all the time. But average regular unknown Authors aren't that lucky....we have to work hard to promote our stuff, we don't have agents doing it for us.

Some women, especially urban women, have kind of ruined the whole trucker commradity thing.
truckers use to have larger than life personalities, and were helpful and talkative...but these newer urban women, they most certainly do not. And bring that same stuck up attitude with them in trucking that they have in rest of life.
i mean truckers use to learn stuff from each other by talking to one another, yet if you try talking to some female trucker they think you're trying to hit up on them and act stand offish...that's why the trucking culture is all but dead now...cause of women like that, and others who have come into the idustry, like foreign speakers...there's probably more spanish speaking truckers than they're are English speaking ones now.
And of course cell phones helped ruin the trucking culture as well...in the past truckers got lonely on the road and so stirred up conversations with other drivers...not anymore, it's just dead out there now and is just a driving job for most.

The worse thing about getting dressed up to go to work as a trucker is no one cares.
You show up to a dusty or muddy yard, hardly see anyone, get in truck, are alone, go to warehouse, speak into a speaker, no one sees you, and if they do it's usually some dull looking post romanceual male with no or zero sense of style or flair.
Just saying, if you want or value interaction with others, fashion and style, trucking is not the place to find that.

Driving for long periods is just bad for you health, then add the junk food that's served at Pilots, Loves, T/A's ect.
I can be off for 4 days in a row, drink a few beers, and still lose weight and feel fine. Then just one day driving that truck on that long route, I gain weight, cause of the food out there. It's crap food.
When's the last time you've seen a healthy looking truck driver?
Most truckers, these days, look sickly.
Drive, eat, wait, drive some more, and then sleep. I could never do OTR anymore, ever. I'd rather work 2 part time jobs, or one full time job that paid a bit less than torture myself being OTR these days.

get home late, wore out and tired, after eating 'death food' all day (junk food at truck stops).
No exercise, no recreational time, just get up, after sleeping all night, and eating before bed, and doing it all again, not counting other bad habits.
That's what typical driver does.
I try not to, but it's easy to get swept into that pattern.
I'm lucky in that I only do it 3 days a week, but the days are indeed long. A work day to me counts the minute you get out of bed, hours before actually driving to work...so like 18-20 hours of actually awake time for some at times, with no exercise....and mindless driving isn't exercise.
And sitting is terrible for your health.
Shorter route drivers do have it better in that regard, cause they make many stops, that's good actually, movement is always good, even though lazy drivers may not think so...but look at how differrent their bodies look.
I can always tell a route driver from a OTR driver, route drivers look like athletes in comparison.
Anyways, gotta get dressed now for work.

When not working, I'm the world to myself, it's only when I clock in at job, do I feel so utterly small No one likes being made to feel small. Next book will be about the failures of trucking, and how it stifles growth and creativity in drivers, and insteads feeds you steady stream of insulting training videos written by a holes who have never driven. When I'm not driving, I'm producing radio shows, doing other wonderful things that make me feel alive.

Hurricane IAN has given me the day off I'm just glad I got the day off do to the hurricane. At first automated scheduler had me headed straight towards the hurricane until I called in. I mean I'm brave, always up for adventure, but not about to drive straight into a hurricane, not in a semi truck anyways. Maybe if I had a Army Tank I'd might try it for the fun of it.

I have to work tomorrow, and go to a job environment I totally hate and despise. Where I will be reduced to nothing, a nobody, labor. A mindless zombie.
